Hello Nubians,<br /><br />Leave it to social media to get me smitten with #ManicureMonday. Thanks to instagram and tumblr, I'm constantly bumping into so much nail inspiration. Sometimes unfortunately... I'm not located near certain salons, but it's still great looking at the photos for ideas and to try to do something similar.<br /><br />Recently via instagram I found I Scream Nails located in Australia (<i>Melbourne and Sydney</i>) and fell in love so hard. I adore bright, bold, colorful, and unique designs. I also am fascinated with things that involve pop culture icons or trends whether it be Hello Kitty, Aliens, Pizza, Watermelon, etc.<br /><br />Here are some of my favorite photos from the I Scream Nails instagram page. My nails were fairly long but of course one of them just had to break so I cut them all... Don't you just hate that!? Anyway, I cut my nails really short and kind of improvised a few lines to make a fun little design. I decided to DIY my manicure instead of going to the salon. I actually do this pretty often to try to improve my skills. It also doesn't hurt to save a few bucks along the way/ </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">For my base color I used Sally Hansen Velvet 640 Velour. It's a nice matte purple color. I proceeded but using LA. Colors Art Deco wands in white and silver glitter to make some lines off the top of my head and make the manicure more fun. I sealed the manicure with Sally Hansen's Gel Shine 3D Top Coat. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="background-color: white; font-family: HelveticaNeue, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 26px;"><i>Ayer por la noche después de un poco de limpieza de primavera decidí darme un manicure y pedicure. Mis uñas eran bastante largas, pero por supuesto uno de ellas tenía que romperse y tuve que cortarlas todas... ¿No lo odias? Nails of the Week: China Glaze Shocking Pink.

Hey Nubians,<br /><br />A lady always has to make sure her hands look presentable. When I was younger, I didn't care about these kind of things at all. I thought I was "too cool" walking around with my chipped nails.<br /><br /><i><b><span style="font-size: large;">With age I've realized it's better to have no polish on than chipped polish. </span></b></i><br /><i><b><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></b></i>I went to the nail salon this week (treat yo self ladies) and got a nice pink coat of China Glaze Shocking Pink. The color was just yelling out "choose me!" so I did. I love the end result. Hello Nubians,<br /><br />I got a manicure done last week at Jolie Nail Spa in Las Vegas and the did a really nice job. I decided to go with a pointy acrylic. There's something about a stiletto nail I find sexy and alluring. Perhaps it's because the shape has a feline quality to them... and an aire of mystery. If you keep them at an appropriate length I find them to be quite sophisticated as well.<br /><br />It's really important to make sure you're nails are done as a lady. I say either you have have a nice lacquer on or nothing at all. Letting your polish chip for too long is like a tragedy occurring on your hands for all to see. I haven't always been the best at keeping my nails nice and polished but I've certainly gotten better throughout the years.<br /><br />If you're looking for a glorious ravishing red that will just speak volumes to you, I recommend OPI Big Apple Red. It's the one I used and as you can see in the photos below it's glamorous. With the holidays among us it's always nice to walk around with a cute manicure.<br /><br />The manicure below is something I did spontaneously and free-hand (so don't kill me if it's not 100% clean). I decided to mix up painting the whole nail on some fingers and only doing the tips on others to make it more fun to look at. I passed by Walgreens about a day ago and picked up this color from the Wet n Wild's Fergie collabo. The color I'm sporting is called "A017 Take the Stage" and retails at $3.99. It took me 4 coats to get the color to look like this and it dried fairly fast. There's a lot of fab girl fun behind this polish and it's also super edgy.
