This trend was pretty popular anywhere from the 1950s-1970's. The greats in my book such as Audrey Hepburn, Brigitte Bardot, Sophia Loren, Marilyn Monroe and more used to were their scarves like this.<br /><br /><i>Me encantaría ver más hermosas mujeres con pañuelos bonitos en la cabeza ... ya sabes, en la forma en que casi parece un hoodie. Hey Nubians, <div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div>Yesterday I was zoning out on my tablet watching Netflix when I saw 'The Beautician and the Beast' (1997). If you're a late 80's baby like me who grew up watching a lot of television shows in the 90's, I can almost bet at some point...  Fran Drescher was your style icon! I used to love watching 'The Nanny', it was one of my favorite shows. I can still hear it ringing in the back of my ears somewhere Mr. Sheffield yelling "Ms. Fine!".</div><div><br /></div><div>Being that's it's #ThrowbackThursday and all I wanted to share some of my favorite Fran Drescher looks.</div><div><br /></div><div><div><i>Ayer esta pegada a mi tableta viendo Netflix cuando vi 'The Beautician and the Beast'  (1997). You know what I love the most about  Fran Drescher's style? The woman has NO FEAR what-so-ever. Sure, I wasn't a fan of absolutely everything she wore, but I was a fan of the majority. </div><div><br /></div><div>I admire the fact that she always catered to her silhouette and knew how to accessorize. Her style was a mix of trends from the 1950's -1980's. Crazy prints, short skirts, tons of leopard, belly shirts, sequins galore, play suits, and more. Determined to become an actress she dropped out of High School at age 15 and enrolled in a drama school in New York City... talk about knowing what you want right?!<br /><br />In 1950 Lucy and her husband Desi Arnez (which sadly they eventually divorced) started a new venture with  Desilu Productions. It started as a radio shoe and in October 1951 they started a television comedy series, I Love Lucy. The show starred the two of them and it was a comedy based around their real lives as a couple. The show was a hit for 6 years.<br /><br /><b><span style="font-size: large;">Anyway, a couple of reasons I personally love Lucy</span></b> is because watching her show and reading about her I could tell <b>she was a total force to be reckoned with</b>. I remember reading a quote where she said <i>"How I Love Lucy was born? We decided that instead of divorce lawyers profiting from our mistakes, we'd profit from them."</i> <b>To me that demonstrates a woman who can take an utterly terrible situation and not let it define her</b>... basically she was able to flip the switch at all times.<br /><br />Lucy was also a pioneer, I believe she was the first woman to own her very own film studio. A lot of people believed Lucille Ball would never make it as an actress but she didn't let anything stop her. She also inspired countless amounts of women to pursue comedy at a time when it wasn't very common and till this day. <b>Determined, driven and the type of inspiration and woman to look up to that young girls need today. Beautiful in and out. </b><br /><b><br /></b><b><span style="color: red; font-size: x-large;"><u>Lucy's Style</u></span></b><br />I don't have much to say about Lucy's style because these photos speak for themselves. She was a classy lady and a total fox. She sported a lot of 1950s glam and knew how to work it. Hello Nubians, <br /><br />I wanted to share a few photos I instagram'ed within the last few days. I adore fashion, style and looks from the 1950s and 60s. In my opinion back in those days, ladies carried themselves with so much more glamour and class. The hair was better, the dresses were prettier, waists were always cinched and petite, and there was also so much cute shoes! Think about Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, Bettie Paige, Brigitte Bardot, Lucille Ball, Marilyn Monroe and some much more! These ladies = TOTAL BETTIES.<br /><br />I personally am a fan of mixing the old with the new. There are a lot of current trends that could use a sprinkle of the 1950's/60's on top to make a fun new outfit or look.<br /><br />Below you'll see some photos of me in the fitting room. The photos are from a class my friend Jasmin (<a href="http://vintagevandalizm.com/">Vintage Vandal</a>) taught about Retro Style and Beauty at Amberjoy's Vintage Closet, a cute shop in downtown Las Vegas. I was a model is Jasmin's class. She demonstrated a few different hairstyles on me such as pincurls, gibson rolls, victory rolls, and showed her students how to do a bumper bang using a foam foundation and much, much more.
