Cake Pop Rock.

Hello Nubians, <br /><br />I wanted to share this outfit I wore sometime during NYFW. One of the girls I was working with got the whole social team cake pops which was really sweet! Who doesn't love a good cake pop? plus quite frankly, they're pretty to look at and I probably spend as much time admiring one as I do eating it.<br /><br />Anyway, back to the outfit... I wanted something chill and relaxing to wear. I pretty much had an ALL SNEAKER policy this season (except for one day when I wore oxfords) I run around way too much and comfort is key. To make up for not wearing any heels I layered a bit, mixed textures and tried to pay attention to detail as much as possible. <br /><br /><br /><i><span style="color: #0c343d;">Quería compartir este conjunto que use la semana de moda aqui en Nueva York. Yo quería algo chevere y relajante para ponerme. En la semana de moda casi todo lo que me puse fue estilo deportivo esta temporada (a excepción de un día, cuando yo llevaba oxfords) corro demasiado y siempre estoy ocupada... pues para mi la comodidad fue clave. I was completely intrigued with the oversized strip jacket from the collection. Katharine Polk really nailed it this season making pieces for women who dress for themselves and not for men. I tapped her on the shoulder and she graciously turned around and posed for a photo.<br /><br /><span style="color: red; font-size: large;"><b>Chromat<span style="text-align: center;"> </span></b></span><br /><br />Everyone was super excited for Chromat by designer Becca McCharen ... especially after Beyonce got on stage recently looking killer in this designers gear. (Lets face it, all eyes have been on the Beyhive)<br /><br />The room was jam packed as everyone waited for the runway to begin at The Standard. It was out of this world with intergalactic flair and a clear message saying that the Future and a new style wave is here. There was a lot of structure and architecture used to compliment feminine curves. Feminine, sexy and filled with plenty of loose silhouettes. <b><i><span style="color: red; font-size: large;">It's not very often that I see a collection and can honestly say I would wear everything in it...</span></i></b><br /><br />I attended the Tabitha Simmons F/W 13 presentation during MADE Fashion week and I felt like a kid at a candy shop, I WANTED EVERYTHING!<br /><br />This British stylist turned shoe designer is truly a master at her craft. The pointy heel made a comeback this year and it seems like it isn't going anywhere. Frankly, I'm happy about it... I enjoy the pointy heel. The collection is most certainly appealing to the eye with eye popping colors, glitter, leopard prints and even holographic prints! So much fun and VERY NubiasNonsense style if I do say so myself, wouldn't mind getting my hands on a pair of shiny pointy toed flats.<br /><br />The collection is SEXY and very wearable with a pleasant amount of variety. I was working very hard and although I enjoyed watching the garments come to life, I'm glad it's over and I have trends to look forward to for Spring 2012. It's a very bittersweet feeling... Jeremy Scott Fall 2011

Hello Lovely Readers!<br /><br />Oh Jeremy, You had me at bad ass girls rocking capes! I had the pleasure of attending the Jeremy Scott Fall 2011 runway show at Milk Studios. It was one of the most enjoyable presentations I got to see all season. I am a HUGE fan of Scott's and his reputation of bringing such color and life onto the runway.<br /><br />Besides the clothing being out of this world, Lets talk about the models for a bit. Most of these lovely ladies were rocking super high pigtails with a <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">zig</span> <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">zag</span> part in the back that looked like a lightning bolt. The pigtails also contained colorful extensions. The makeup was all vibrant neon color: orange, yellows, greens, reds, blues, etc. Everything just looked so...COLORFUL. It looked like someone had a bag of rainbow (if that were possible) and exploded it in the models face. It was magical!<br /><br />Anyone who's been following my blog for sometime knows that I am a big comic book fan. Most of this line seems very comic/<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">anime</span> inspired. When I saw the pieces going down the runway I became smitten. The clothing speaks for itself, there is not much I can say. There was a variety of fun textures which I'm sure you'll all enjoy.
