1950's Head Scarf Trends. Perfect For Spring Fashion!

Hello My Beautiful Nubians,<br /><br /><b><span style="color: red; font-size: x-large;"><i>“Think of all the beauty still left around you and be happy.” - Anne Frank</i></span></b><br /><br /><br />I'd love to see more beautiful women wearing head scarves... you know, in the form where it almost looks like a hoodie. This trend was pretty popular anywhere from the 1950s-1970's. The greats in my book such as Audrey Hepburn, Brigitte Bardot, Sophia Loren, Marilyn Monroe and more used to were their scarves like this.<br /><br /><i>Me encantaría ver más hermosas mujeres con pañuelos bonitos en la cabeza ... ya sabes, en la forma en que casi parece un hoodie. Esta tendencia fue bastante popular desde la década de 1950 -1970 . Las grandes figuras como Audrey Hepburn, Brigitte Bardot, Sophia Loren, Marilyn Monroe y más utilizados los pañuelos asi.</i><br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTO5YtExpBOjlsuKreGXgR6uMHjXkTXoMFttdvLqM_pzw1ZxqH3APg8OFQOA_eWWq5n_Ovy6Ks-r9CrKDSVziS6QxUOnGLBSR7OVC3vL-dN-lMYqdUWgOH0-CPoY4bGy0tDecK9UiSlySV/s1600/Headscarfs.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="482" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTO5YtExpBOjlsuKreGXgR6uMHjXkTXoMFttdvLqM_pzw1ZxqH3APg8OFQOA_eWWq5n_Ovy6Ks-r9CrKDSVziS6QxUOnGLBSR7OVC3vL-dN-lMYqdUWgOH0-CPoY4bGy0tDecK9UiSlySV/s640/Headscarfs.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I wish this trend was seen around more, especially now for Spring fashion. It's great to block the sun and it looks very elegant. ALSO, this trend can also MAKE AN OUTFIT. There are so many bold colorful scarves and scarves with fascinating prints and patterns on them... really it could turn into a gorgeous thing. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">A fun retro look! Seen a lot on the pinup scene too. Below you'll see I wore my Wonder Woman <a href="http://shopglamarous.com/">gla.MAR.ous</a> head wrap in this fashion. I plan to buy a bunch of cute scarves and do it more often. Hay tantos pañuelos coloridos y bufandas con impresiones fascinantes y estampados sobre ellos... realmente podría convertirse en algo hermoso.</i></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><i><br /></i></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><i>Un look retro divertido! También visto mucho en la escena del Pin-up. A continuación usted verá que usé mi pañuelo estampado con Wonder Woman gla. MAR.ous de esta manera. Voy a comprar un montón de bufandas lindos y usar este look más a menudo.</i></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhm4P0afCK1SRaSM0mrg-SXTv_p2AQwFwgwcR75MLN5bBWARcY-0dZVhRn5kkAxifmjFqJDE4yut7cdHAG6iBmm-p5H_iWOlsCAFJ-o8T3qoyW_p432Ap1QraVZVz9Rp_AoVDTw6cDQBY9_/s1600/Head-Scarf.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="636" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhm4P0afCK1SRaSM0mrg-SXTv_p2AQwFwgwcR75MLN5bBWARcY-0dZVhRn5kkAxifmjFqJDE4yut7cdHAG6iBmm-p5H_iWOlsCAFJ-o8T3qoyW_p432Ap1QraVZVz9Rp_AoVDTw6cDQBY9_/s640/Head-Scarf.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Of course I had to make my look super colorful and animated because that's just simply who I am. Although I love my all black outfits here and there, I believe fashion should be fun and colorful! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="color: red; font-size: large;"><b>What do you think about the scarves? Well it's kind of exactly what it sounds like. It's an awesome wooden crate that gets delivered to you with a crowbar. <b>Let's stop for a second and think about how rad it is to open a wooden crate with a crowbar. An experience in itself.</b> Inside it's full of awesome gifts. There's different crate options and they all come with amazing items inside that your friend or boy toy will definitely be excited about. </div><div><br /></div><div>Some of my favorites crates are the<span style="color: red; font-size: large;"> </span><a href="http://www.mancrates.com/crates/oktoberfest">Personalized Oktoberfest Steins</a>, <a href="http://www.mancrates.com/crates/spicy">Hot & Spicy Man Crate</a>, <a href="http://www.mancrates.com/crates/exotic-meats">Exotic Meat Man Crates</a>, <a href="http://www.mancrates.com/crates/zombie-annihilation">Zombie Annihilation Crate</a>, and <a href="http://www.mancrates.com/crates/high-roller">High Roller Man Crates</a> I could go on. </div><div><br /></div><div>For the day of LOVE, Valentines day, I have a particular crate in mind... The Retro Gamer Crate! A gamer geeks dream.  </div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyvpvaL3dbDwr8eabjZCksloZz9RwC8QS2krF2e3QXGnLebvhxtVSY4Dl8cHBSL3McqILyp40FH4Q524TUzmVQ9b8sQ5SVLQ2z5f4nTG83dQZdpW-5Kji10TMoC7m09Ih49k-g4Ja3FJY/s1600/retro_gamer_comp_s__58960.1412700687.702.702.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyvpvaL3dbDwr8eabjZCksloZz9RwC8QS2krF2e3QXGnLebvhxtVSY4Dl8cHBSL3McqILyp40FH4Q524TUzmVQ9b8sQ5SVLQ2z5f4nTG83dQZdpW-5Kji10TMoC7m09Ih49k-g4Ja3FJY/s1600/retro_gamer_comp_s__58960.1412700687.702.702.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><b><span style="font-size: large;">Something about men and video games creates a beautiful nostalgia...</span></b></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">When I was younger my dad used to wake me and my brother up at random times of the night to play Super Mario Brother on Nintendo. I forget exactly how he learned to pay (<i>my brother might have taught him</i>) but he became absolutely obsessed. It was the most random thing because he never really played video games at all and then one day he just went nuts. He was obsessed with beating the game before my brother because he was "The Best". It was hilarious how much pride he took in all of it. These games often create beautiful memories and tons of bonding time if you play together. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><b>Video games in general bring up nice positive memories</b>. Whether it be you remembering times you met up at a friends house to play after school or just you lounging in your bedroom playing your favorite music (<i>which you used as a motivation soundtrack surely)</i> and blasting it while you conquered your mission in whichever game you were playing. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Video games also remind us all of simpler times.. Thinking back on when I used to play games on Nintendo, Sega Saturn, Sega Genesis, Nintendo 64, Playstation, etc. I would lose myself in these games without having to check my phone a million times (because there was no social media!) </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="color: red;"><b>Video games are a gift of LOVE ha, ha its true!</b></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><b>Therefore the Retro Gamer Man Crate makes a kick-ass Valentines Day Gift!</b> I would give it to a boyfriend, A friend, a brother... ALSO, don't let the name fool you! I would totally give this to a bunch of my geek girl friends... They'd die over this. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXHwmXDWGo7qVI9VIglq_zvH_3Qub6kAS_cmyTx4GxgwyOGtr27gF6foJxAfhdoWukeO7T9aRx3xLOFfOmKKzBZ4-CXVtEcBK-gsDLejpL9rQOY3862VMortGHKheZyuKmOXA0VuKFhyI/s1600/lifestyle__32811.1414522218.1280.1280.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXHwmXDWGo7qVI9VIglq_zvH_3Qub6kAS_cmyTx4GxgwyOGtr27gF6foJxAfhdoWukeO7T9aRx3xLOFfOmKKzBZ4-CXVtEcBK-gsDLejpL9rQOY3862VMortGHKheZyuKmOXA0VuKFhyI/s1600/lifestyle__32811.1414522218.1280.1280.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxhlR35Chyphenhyphen9Fnb71EgqWLrBkfFlm8aGk8H5Bekms4ysgGtsUGFX6wEpbIV6nDmEBnfpynvoUGFlWzEXHhX0psU3D6coo6sA81m8XxaUyFmzo9G-88jhYqxHRMiuoWwgSniK-_Ad3tmTjs/s1600/retro_catalogue_new__61398.1413391535.1280.1280.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxhlR35Chyphenhyphen9Fnb71EgqWLrBkfFlm8aGk8H5Bekms4ysgGtsUGFX6wEpbIV6nDmEBnfpynvoUGFlWzEXHhX0psU3D6coo6sA81m8XxaUyFmzo9G-88jhYqxHRMiuoWwgSniK-_Ad3tmTjs/s1600/retro_catalogue_new__61398.1413391535.1280.1280.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQA7aQW1LWeb949pXGC2SOJwmytQ04pJ0-jc4fHre9oCEV-JCRMiRLP3LFAAl8ODOa4N5f4Lmnx4W8JmwqXcaQM07YA74tdDUn7Jut5tANuHsjaqpv7Vu_bkrvoqmqELwYnB4S19iktsc/s1600/retro_gamer_games_s__02837.1412700688.1280.1280.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQA7aQW1LWeb949pXGC2SOJwmytQ04pJ0-jc4fHre9oCEV-JCRMiRLP3LFAAl8ODOa4N5f4Lmnx4W8JmwqXcaQM07YA74tdDUn7Jut5tANuHsjaqpv7Vu_bkrvoqmqELwYnB4S19iktsc/s1600/retro_gamer_games_s__02837.1412700688.1280.1280.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><b><span style="color: red; font-size: large;">The Retro Gamer Man Crate Includes:</span></b></div><div><div class="section" style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #17110d; font-family: Gudea, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; outline: 0px;"><h3 style="box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;"><br /></h3><h3 style="box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">Makeshift Time Machine</h3><ul style="box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 9px 9px 9px 27px;"><li style="box-sizing: border-box; outline: 0px;">Retro-Bit NES Console</li><li style="box-sizing: border-box; outline: 0px;">2 classic Nintendo games</li><li style="box-sizing: border-box; outline: 0px;">(randomly selected from an assortment of time-honored, awesome games)</li></ul></div><div class="section" style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: #17110d; font-family: Gudea, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; outline: 0px;"><h3 style="box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">Sugar Intoxication</h3><ul style="box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 9px 9px 9px 27px;"><li style="box-sizing: border-box; outline: 0px;">Red Vines</li><li style="box-sizing: border-box; outline: 0px;">Bottle Caps</li><li style="box-sizing: border-box; outline: 0px;">Mike & Ike</li><li style="box-sizing: border-box; outline: 0px;">Nerds</li><li style="box-sizing: border-box; outline: 0px;">Now and Later</li><li style="box-sizing: border-box; outline: 0px;">Jaw Busters</li><li style="box-sizing: border-box; outline: 0px;">Pop Rocks</li><li style="box-sizing: border-box; outline: 0px;">Pez</li></ul></div><div class="section" style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; font-family: Gudea, sans-serif; outline: 0px;"><h3 style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #17110d; font-size: 14px; margin: 0px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">Delivered</h3><div style="box-sizing: border-box; color: #17110d; font-size: 14px; outline: 0px; padding: 0px;">In a sealed wooden crate with a laser-etched crowbar. Love is in the Air

Greetings Lovely readers,<br /><br /> I'm sure your all looking dashing today. Where I'm located (NYC) it is February 1st. February is a great month (and I'm not just saying it because my birthday's the 3rd) but Valentines day is coming up the 14th. I know what many people think "You should show your love everyday, not put a date on it." Let's be honest though, It's become a holiday and your significant other is probably expecting a bit more affection than regular days.<br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g440/NubiaCmejia/v7.jpg" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g440/NubiaCmejia/v7.jpg" style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 700px; height: 496px;" /></a><span style="font-style: italic;">(Smelling my Marc Jacobs Lola Perfume)</span><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">I know I have a lot of young readers, and the reason I'm mentioning it is because when I was younger I use to <span style="font-weight: bold;">BREAK MY BANK on gifts</span> and it's really not necessary. I think I was really afraid to disappoint so I use to go over the top with gifts. Sometimes It's better to put some real thought and time into your gift than just getting something expensive. I'll give you...<br /></div></div><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">THE PERFECT EXAMPLE:</span> I've been going out with my boyfriend almost 5 years and in between birthdays and Christmas, I've given him all sorts of gadgets. Watches, Cellphones, I-pods, nice clothing, etc. You name it! I get a bit upset when I see something I gave him laying around and not being taken care of (He does this all the time) The funny thing is I know EXACTLY which gift he has taken the best care of. You might not believe me but it's "Love Coupons" I made him a long time ago. He's had them probably 3 years in his wallet. They're stupid little cute things like "Free Massage" "Dinner on Me" "Get out of Argument Free Card" well, you get the point.<br /><br />It's really up to you what you want to give your beloved and I think how old you are and how long you've been together makes a difference. Below I'm going to give some cute ideas for some nice, easy, thought out Valentines day gifts.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center; font-weight: bold;"><span style="font-size:180%;"><span style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0);">V-day Cute gifts:</span></span></div><br /><span style="font-size:100%;"><span style="font-weight: normal;"><span style="font-weight: bold;">-Love Coupons: </span>Go on photo shop or some sort of editing program and really make them look like coupons. Make cute phrases or inside jokes also. It'll make him/her think.<br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">-Make a Valentine inspired breakfast: </span>Make heart shaped toast or pancakes. Add a flower as well. Be creative.<br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">-Cute underwear or pajamas:</span> This is always very affordable and really adorable. This gift is also good for him/her.<br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">-Romantic Scavenger Hunt: </span>Turn the day into a game. Hides letters and little things in different spots and make it a puzzle. Fun!<br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">-Romantic Text</span>: Send your beloved a cute text message more the usual for the whole day reminding them why him/her is appreciated. (I'm sure they'll know it's because it's Valentine's Day)<br />-<span style="font-weight: bold;">Make a custom blanket:</span> It could have different pictures and memories from trips you took together.<br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">-Bake: </span>Pink cupcakes, Heart-shaped cakes, etc. The tummy is the way to a mans heart (ha ha)<br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">-Cute Photo Album or CD:</span> Make a cute personal album with memories and decorate it, draw in it, go nuts! Make a CD with songs you dedicated to each other.<br /><br /></span></span><div style="text-align: left;">I would use any talent I have to my advantage. If I know how to play an instrument I would write a song. If I know how to draw I would make an amazing portrait, Being that I'm so into Fashion I would look for really cool articles of clothing and put together a unique, flashy outfit together for him. Run with what you're good at.<br /></div><br />These are just a few of many ideas. Call me a hopeless romantic, but I like when people put thoughts into things, even my friends. Any one can walk into somewhere and buy anything <span style="font-weight: bold;">BUT not every one will take a moment to truly think of you.</span><br /><div style="text-align: left;"><br />I hope this was helpful to some of you. They're basic ideas but I just wanted to remind people you don't have to break your bank to be romantic. It's over-rated. I prefer a pretty lamp or house decoration from a Vintage store (but that's just me) I hope you all enjoy you're Valentine's Day later this month and <span style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0); font-weight: bold;">SPEND IT WITH SOME ONE WHO'S WORTH IT.</span><br /><br />For my next post I will hopefully be blogging from Vegas. That is if my flight doesn't get cancelled for the 2nd time! Wish me luck! I have great stuff lined up for you this month.<br /><br />Xo Nubia Xo<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;font-size:130%;" >P.S. Blue Valentine Review

I saw Blue Valentine a few days ago directed by Derek Cianfrance and starring Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams. The movie was very "real" to say the least.<br /><br />Derek Cianfrance tells the story of a young couple struggling through various ups and downs...but more downs. The film goes back and forth between time periods of a young couples relationship and how they fell in love. Though there are a few blind spots in the plot that leave you wondering, overall I would say the movie was fantastic but very sad in a realistic way. If your looking for your "fairy tale" ending, look away! Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams gave such a raw performance. The chemistry between the two was undeniable. I've been a fan of Gosling for sometime and he delivered as usual. I was very impressed with Williams, It might be her best performance yet in my personal opinion. I've heard people say she wasn't "likeable" in the film but honestly she's not suppose to be. She's a confused young woman looking for more out of life. The movie has a very gloomy and nostalgic scenery. Every scene matched almost to perfection the emotion they were going for. The music selection for the movie was one of my favorite things about it, It has a very 1940's-1950's vibe to it.<br /><a href="http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g440/NubiaCmejia/b2-2.jpg" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g440/NubiaCmejia/b2-2.jpg" style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 600px; height: 471px;" /></a>All the little details between Dean (Gosling) and Cindy (Williams) were on point. Every little touch, every little stare, every little giggle, I could almost literally see the butterflies flying in the beginning of their romance. But like many young romances... Life and obstacles got in the way and Cindy starting to slowly fall out of Love. Dean was blind to this through the years, and was a hopeless romantic who truly believed love would get them through anything.<br /><a href="http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g440/NubiaCmejia/b1-2.jpg" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g440/NubiaCmejia/b1-2.jpg" style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 600px; height: 399px;" /></a><span style="font-size:130%;"><span style="font-weight: bold;">Now Dear Readers,</span></span> I have a question for you all... What does one do to keep to flame lit in your relationship? To keep your heart thumping? It is a hurdle every couple has to eventually overcome. Here are some quick tips I gathered for inspiration to you all.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center; font-weight: bold;"><span style="font-size:130%;">Ways To Keep Your Relationship Flame Flickering<br /><span style="font-weight: normal;">-Be Spontaneous (Just don't over-do it.)</span><br /><span style="font-weight: normal;">-Have a good court-ship</span> <span style="font-weight: normal;">-Get small gifts for your partner. Even if it's a dumb Hallmark card, make them laugh occasionally.</span> <span style="font-weight: normal;"><br />-Surprise Meals (Do it up nicely, it's very easy)</span><br /><span style="font-weight: normal;">-Compliment each other</span><br /><span style="font-weight: normal;">-Leave random post-it notes with cute messages on them</span> <span style="font-weight: normal;"><br />-Share moments, Have inside jokes.</span><br /><span style="font-weight: normal;">-Have good sex. Make a connection. (It's very important)</span><br /><span style="font-weight: normal;">-Be Mysterious Sometimes (Go away, don't always say where you're going)</span> <span style="font-weight: normal;"><br />-Be corny sometimes (by this I mean corny sweet) you have to limit this though because it might become sickening haha.</span><br /><span style="font-weight: normal;">-Get him/her tickets to their favorite show</span> <span style="font-weight: normal;"><br />-Party separately occasionally. It shows confidence and it's appealing.</span><br /><span style="font-weight: normal;">-Make sure to always laugh together.</span> </span><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-weight: normal;"><br />These are just a few small tips. If you Google "How to keep your relationship going", you can probably find hundreds of tips all over the internet. After watching Blue Valentine I thought it was appropriate for inspiration. I am in NO WAY promising these will work, especially when your dealing with a long, complicated relationship. I think if you feel something is worth saving, it's worth a shot. Don't regret it not trying for something you believe in.</span> <span style="font-weight: normal;"><br /><br />Blue Valentine is in theater's now and definitely worth seeing. From the tweets i was reading, It seemed to be a wake-up call for a lot of people and hit home. Check out the Soundtrack also out February 15th.<br /><br /></span><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-weight: bold;">Oh and By the way... Ryan Gosling singing and playing the ukulele?
