Hello Nubians,<br /><br />Leave it to social media to get me smitten with #ManicureMonday. Thanks to instagram and tumblr, I'm constantly bumping into so much nail inspiration. Sometimes unfortunately... I'm not located near certain salons, but it's still great looking at the photos for ideas and to try to do something similar.<br /><br />Recently via instagram I found I Scream Nails located in Australia (<i>Melbourne and Sydney</i>) and fell in love so hard. I adore bright, bold, colorful, and unique designs. This trend was pretty popular anywhere from the 1950s-1970's. My nails were fairly long but of course one of them just had to break so I cut them all... Don't you just hate that!? Anyway, I cut my nails really short and kind of improvised a few lines to make a fun little design. I decided to DIY my manicure instead of going to the salon. I actually do this pretty often to try to improve my skills. It also doesn't hurt to save a few bucks along the way/ </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">For my base color I used Sally Hansen Velvet 640 Velour. It's a nice matte purple color. I proceeded but using LA. Colors Art Deco wands in white and silver glitter to make some lines off the top of my head and make the manicure more fun. I sealed the manicure with Sally Hansen's Gel Shine 3D Top Coat. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="background-color: white; font-family: HelveticaNeue, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 26px;"><i>Ayer por la noche después de un poco de limpieza de primavera decidí darme un manicure y pedicure. Hey Nubians,<br /><br />Just quick Saturday post, I think I want to try to cleanse myself from the internet tomorrow atleast for most of the day. I may have to work on my computer at night but during the day I may challenge myself to not look at my phone at all. It's important to get away from these screens sometimes. Maybe I'll read a book or hit up the Las Vegas Strip or play some games at Fremont like at Gold Spike. NYX Blue Velvet X NYC Parsons Pink.

Hey Nubians, <br /><br />I love mixing lip colors. A lot of times you love a color but it's too bold and you may not be in the mood to rock something so strong that day.<br /><br />Below is the result of me mixing NYX Blue Velvet and NYC Parsons Pink lipstick colors. NYX Blue Velvet is very bold and looks almost identical to the color of a smurf (I kid you not). The NYC Parsons Pink is a metallic pink.
